'D'ANGER = DANGER

Since my childhood, I have always been noted as an angry
young boy, a boy whose temper rose to sky high levels for every small action or
even a liner said by someone that opposed him. Everyone in the family would
introduce me first and speak of my horrible talent – Anger! Talent is the word
I would use here as that was how was I was introduced and known to many among
relatives, friends & well wishers. No one would ever believe me but yep,
that was me.

I remember my mom saying most of the time – your anger will
kill you up to your head one day, you will not know what hit you then. She used
to fear and still does, that hope my anger does not take my life out! I knew it
from that very moment that I had to work on it big time as that would make my
life hell in the years to come…years that I would want to live with my family
& loved ones with joy and happiness. Though no one said it was an easy
task, but hello, who said it was impossible. It is really strange that every
time I try to work on it to be calm and composed, never jump out on any
situations, remain collective…I always seemed to be doing just the opposite.
And at the end of it, I would cry in one corner of my room in the house telling
myself that this was not supposed to happen. Yet, it happened and was quite
strong like a storm that took away all the trust and respect that was build
over years, with a wink of the eye!

I still believe that one day I will conquer it and shout to
the world saying – ‘Look, people of this world, I have done it. I have it done
what I was supposed to do.’  I am lucky enough to realize this one fact
that my parents are the most precious gifts that I have with me which I must
not mis-behave or dis-respect them, even as I say these things, it is a shame
that I got to such an extent of putting my parents head down because of my
anger. I realized that this is the biggest sin committed by me in this life
which has made my fall in my own eyes and I will have to change my attitude and
outlook towards life to help me repent for this horrifying sin throughout my
life. I had displeased my father whom I have respect upon all for this hard
work & commitment to his family for supporting me all throughout my life
till date, my mother’s love and affection shown on me in every possible way.

Hence that day onwards, I had decided to keep myself in
control of situations and directed all my attention in being calm and composed,
swearing that never ever such day will come again in my entire life where I
have to see my parents cry in their hearts, my wife to be feeling that she has
made the biggest mistake of her life to live with such a person, my children
should not ever be shadowed by such a horrible ‘talent’ that would make their
lives not worth living and finally, never to give even the slightest of signs
to any person I meet or talk that he or she never thinks about meeting me again
in their life time.

Thus, I would only repeat to myself day in day out that
‘D’anger is ‘Danger’, a horrible talent or rather habit that needs to be killed
quickly before it kills me completely!!!

Sister's Love - A different bonding

I remember the day when my eldest sister got married. I was only 18 years old, just out of my teens, very immature and had no signs of adolescence yet within myself. My sister waving us good bye, as we plan to leave for our trip to mahabalipuram. Me, the stupid innocent kid, not knowing that this would be the last of her I would see in my years to come. She is no more my close one whom I can share everything and anything (that’s what how the tradition follows…)

It is quite strange with all this years of bonding between my sisters and myself – I would one day have to forcefully digest the fact that they would no longer be a part of my life for the years to come. The daily moments of joy, laughter alongwith fights & arguments would come to a standstill. These times seem to just pass by in seconds in front of my eyes. The attachment between the three of us, I am sure, can never be felt by the each of us individually. We have been there for each other fighting against all odds in our lives and we have fought with each other too…just like other’s children do!

Frankly speaking, one cannot understand life without a sister. You can have the close attachment with your brother…but you can never feel the true essence of life without a sister! A sister fills in the gap of one’s life and give you that motherly love when you need it most. I have learnt many a things, being with my sisters, things which make me atleast grow a little bit more wiser! Thanks to them, I can give a better meaning and support to my present relationship with my lady love.

Today, as I write about my sisters, my second elder sister is taking on the big stage…who is the closest to everyone, the baby of hearts. Years have passed on since my eldest sister got married and the kiddo in me is almost dead, making me feel it more difficult to accept the fact that soon, I would be parting away with one more close one in my life. Life is going change big time since that day in our lives…the silence is going be killing and horrifying to each one of us at home. But, tradition is tradition and what my ancestors and elders have followed has to be repeated by me…again!

My dearest sisters…I will love you very much and shall miss you most! Take care and god bless you too.

Marriages made on Internet!

On my return back from Mumbai in the flight, I was reading the sunday Mid-Day news. An interesting article caught the corner of my eye. It read - "Click, Click, to tie the knot again", an article written on the increasing trend of separated couples, accessing the internet reconsider the remarry!

The statistics shown are very surprising. Over 1.5 lakh people wanted to remarry across the country & 25% of Mumbai is divorced or widowed are considering to marry again! Mr. Vivek Pahwa, man behind the launched secondshaadi.com had to say that second marriages are seen as the the triumph of hope over experience! 3,700 members from Mumbai, while Delhi & B'lore contributed together making an approximate 10,000 members visiting his site looking for partners in second marriages. "Divorcees and widowers also come and this trend cuts across caste barriers". A remark made by Mr. K.S.Ranganathan, marriage consellor for Parivarthan.com.

There are many matrimonial sites which had come up in last 2-3 years. But, this is the quite interesting for considering separated couples and giving them the opporunity to re-marry...just by a click on the computer's mouse! Tomorrow you access the internet and imagine you get an advertisement that read - Babies for sale on the internet!

Sort that out!

The Perfectionist...

From Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak to Taare Zameen Par, anyone who knows Aamir Khan would agree that he has come along from being just an star to the figure who has made an impact outside the film industry!

The movies in which Aamir has acted speaks a million words. The way he involves himself and gets deep into the character just goes to show his versitality and experience, he has gained over the years. No wonder its takes more than a year for his movie to hit the screens across the nation.

His visualization and creativity in bringing out the character (the role that he plays) makes one just go praising about him all the time! Every movie of his has a message to spread to the viewer creating either a feeling that is either patriotic or inspirational. From emotional to high intense drama, he has played every single role that cannot be brought out so well by any other actor. "A different kind of Bollywood star-- risky, instinctive, and talented enough to blur the boundaries between popular film and art cinema" - quoted in an article speaking about the actor. There are many other moments in Aamir Khan’s films that make you laugh and cry at once. Such moments establish the superiority of his histrionic skills over that of other contemporary actors.

In an interview, the following was asked to the actor -

A lot of people call you the Indian Tom Hanks but I say that Tom Hanks is the American Aamir Khan.

Aamir's reply - "For some time people have been telling me that they see a lot of similarities between me and Tom Hanks, but somehow I have never seen that similarity. I think he is a great actor, so if people think I am like him, I am really thrilled.

I don’t know if I want to work towards being an international actor. I prefer to stay where I am in Bombay, and perhaps do films that address an international audience. You see, Lagan was not meant to address an international audience. It ended up doing that, but that’s not how we thought about it initially. It has given me a lot of encouragement to start thinking more widely, thinking of an international audience. So now I am looking for scripts that could appeal to an international audience."

A dreamer which he is (being a piscean, DOB - 14th March 1965), he is surprisingly down to earth, natural and, at least for the time being, very relieved to be less well known to everyone. He chooses to speak he says hard-hitting truths, without thinking of the consequences it would have on him or his image. Narmada Bachao Aandolan one of the classic cases which has shown his true Aamir Khan outside the cinema world.

Being named as a ‘perfectionist’ by critics, directors have called him a difficult actor, who ‘over-analyses’ at times, ‘over-studies’ his role to the extent. He creates benchmarks every single time, making his previous role completely forgotten which shows how much of a genius he is! He dares to dream and move on a path not chosen by many. Thus, setting a pathway for many around him calling him 'different'!

Truely, a perfectionist who is an living inspiration to many - including me!

Destiny's Child!!!

I always keep thinking at times for the remark made by one of my close friend's on calling me - Destiny's Child! Never still have understood the reason for it nor understood what it meant until now...

Destiny's Child - what does it actually mean? Does it mean that I will be controlled by my destiny and never be able to judge what is good or bad...always learn with experience? Or does it mean that whatever happens shall happen for the good or bad? Life sometimes makes me wonder on these two words and what are its effects on me! In my entire life...I have just kept learning on things, observing ppl & trying to understand what is good or bad, right or wrong. And still after understanding the same, I come back to square one at times asking the question - Why does it happen this way? Why does it have to happen to me only? Is it coz I have no control over what I think or do! Am I not able to learn from my past experiences and improve on it?

I strongly believe in this quote marked in the cartoon series "Calvin and Hobbes" by Bill Watterson - 'The problem about the future is that it keeps changing to the present!'. As I write this blog, the only one thought coming to my mind is - Are the things that are happening to me & around me is good or bad? Though I think and believe that it is happening for my better! There is always that amount of fear as to what will happen when things don’t go the way I dreamt! What if tomorrow things are not the same as today...

There are times when elderly people say to me - What has to happen will happen and one cannot change it, so leave it on God! If so, then why do we think about it spending most of our time and energy on the unknown...thinking about all those negatives and positives related to it. We express our emotions to all kinds of thoughts and actions that we have no control over!

(Ain't it strange? Now I am sure you would thinking about the same too! :D)

God only knows where our thinking would lead to but as of now I will take my friend’s word for me because I am not sure as to what would happen to me and leave it entire on Destiny!

AMEN!!!

The Emerging Invisible World

Monday morning as I login on Skype, a customer pings me with 3 files to be downloaded to start work on them immediately. The next moment, I get a call from him from the messenger giving me all the necessary inputs related to the job! Bingo, I am on production the next minute!

Imagine how much of time would have gone in me getting the files through the courier or still better the email? Keep guessing!

We are truly in the flat world on the convergence that involved both vertical and as well as horizontal collaboration. No more communication works only from top to bottom but all directions - a 360 deg. approach. giving us a whole new dimension - to think, to see and to hear too! Unfortunately, to feel in the global world still seems like a dream! Someone who has read this book 'The World is Flat' would be knowing what exactly is going on in my little brain. It gives us an eye-opener to the extent of globalisation taken place in our small world - which we often call it as...

Outsourcing, a process which has come into existence to most of us recently in the last 5-10 years was already in the working stage in the early 90s. Only existed to the second convergent world where developed nations subcontracted a part of their existing process to a third party company! This 3rd party company would be somewhere in a developing country providing their best services and making a mark in the world map.

Today, a triple convergent world came into existence involving developing nations like China and India, etc to interact, collaborate and provide services breaking all barriers and boundaries on the face of this planet. Offshoring was another term introduced to the global world where a company could open up their factory / plant in some other part of the world to cater to a wider market. All this was possible through open source sharing of information between whiz kids & internet freaks who cracked their brains down to make the world more IT oriented. Terms like Uploading which is now the "in-thing" for most IT enabled companies & users, a part of the Open source collaboration of information. Insourcing & Informing are the new form of searching the smallest information on the web thanks to the big gaint - Google! Supply chain, according to the wikipedia, is a process, that has helped companies as a system of organizations, people, technology, activities, information and resources involved in moving a product or service from supplier to customer.

It is so fascinating to learn about this global world, understand & apply to one's present working environment and make the most of the collaborating force that joins us all!

Now i am begining to wonder as to what would happen to boundaries of the neighbouring countries and their rules & regulations...I guess one has to ponder on those thoughts too!
